Jam and Open Mike at Hoover School, plus a KidFiddle workshop -- and a Special Event

Join us at the April jam at Hoover School for music indoors and out. Our usual format: multiple jam groups from 1-5, open-mike performances on stage in the Hoover multi-purpose room starting around 1:30, and the Beginners’ Circle slow jam from 2-3.

Jack Tuttle Also from 2 to 3pm we will offer 2014’s first KidFiddle workshop for young fiddlers. We’re delighted that well-known instructor Jack Tuttle will return to lead this workshop. The workshop is intended for advanced-beginner to intermediate fiddlers, 17 and under. We’ll invite the students to play on stage with Jack after the class. Tuition is only $5, and youth admission to the jam is free as always. You can sign up at the event, but we'd appreciate hearing from you in advance (email to kidfiddle at scvfa.org) if you have a young fiddler who would like to participate.

Afterwards we’ll also hear a performance from Jack’s students’ bluegrass jam-band.

Independence Day Weekend

Free Jam at the Rose Garden Park

The July jam will be held in the Rose Garden Park on Naglee Ave. at Garden Dr. (adjacent to San José Municipal Rose Garden). The park is just two blocks from our usual Hoover School location. Free admission. (Note: We will not have our usual open-mike performances at this jam.)

If you'd like to participate in a Beginners’ Circle slow jam, please ask. For jams in the park we generally arrange them only on demand.
